My headunit is beginning to skip pretty bad......it's nice and tight on the install....I can't even get to 1/2 volume on some songs before it starts skipping.....what can I do?? heard someone say you can add a 1/4 farad cap and that seems to help......but I should have plently of juice........200amp alt 0 guage wire's , 2-yellow tops and 2-1F caps

It's not a lack of current persay.. its the wires. what i have been told to do, is to run a lead from a bigger lead, say off your rear dist blocks, like a 12 or 10 ga wire, to power the unit, then do the ground the same, just braid them together( i think you can do that). mine doesn't skip, never has. altho it is a bit dim at times.. looks good at night tho..

My Eclipse 5504 has the same problem, but it does this at any volume. Just last night my unit paused it self, as i hit the pause button thinking it was paused i get this on the screen "info 3". I'm glad im getting a brand new replacement soon, THANK GOD for warranties.

Yeah, eclipses quality has been slipping lately. The 5303r is probably one of the best pieces they made though. Have you tried cleaning the lens? that might be contributing to the problem.
