I have a cheap Pioneer Head unit with only 1 set of RCA outputs. These are currently being used by my rockford 301m amp powering a 12" DVC JVC sub. I would like to order something like this for my MP3 player (which is also my cellphone):
http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Audio-Cable-Splitter-1-Mini/dp/B00004Z5CP/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1245902128&sr=1-1

but, as you know I only have 1 pair of RCA inputs for the head unit and they are being used by the subwoofers amplifier.

Would this be the solution?

Could I have two devices sending signal via an RCA splitter into 1 input on the head unit simultaneously? I don't think this would work, but how about you? Is my only other option to sell the head unit for a better one or go with an FM transmitter? I do long distance driving so I think an FM transmitter would get annoying (constantly changing stations).

does the radio have IP-bus control???
if not, you need to buy a new radio. You can get a better radio than what you have, with aux-input for around $100.
Of course I'd recommend stepping up and spending 160+ and getting a Kenwood Excelon or Pioneer's Premier lineup instead of just the basic lines
