i'm in the market for a new high end HU and was thinking about replacing my broken p9 HU with a new p9 combo but was worried about the infamous pioneer noise, is there a solution for this other than grounding the rca's ? or is there a better HU solution around the 2k price range ?

Pioneer has a surface mount fuse on the trace of the rca circuit. If at any time you have a bad ground or swap an amp you risk blowing this fuse. The fuse blows whenever ground is trying to be pulled through the rca circuit. It is an easy fix. All you have to do is take the radio all the way apart pull the board out the casing and solder in a jumper on the negative side of the rca to ground. The easiest spot to wire in this jumper is to the antenna port. I have done at least thirty of these fixes on pioneers.
