I have a Pioneer DEH-P5900. i have just recently been having problems with the face plate. some times when I got to push a button the face plate shuts off like there is now power to it and when i let go it turns back on. i would think it would be losing connection but with the way the connectors are designed i would think that it would get a better connection when it gets some pressure. does any one know why this is happening and how to stop it?

I have a deh-p7600 with the same problem what I found out is where the connections meet for the face plate on the front of the hu there are some conection pins those on the lower side are fixed and those on the upper side are moveable what happens over time the upper moveable ones get loose connections and will cut power from the face plate when pressed in but it will not affect music but disable any function of faceplate bring it to any good repair man and explain they should be able to solder the joints for you.

no the face plate is ok its where the face plate connectors mate on the hu use a pen and touch the uppermost conecting pins you will notice they are flexible while the lower ones are fixed. the top ones are the problem, you will have to remove the plate from front of hu [not face plate] to see the problem, if you are not comfortable doing this I would recomend taking it to a repair shop.
