Well i have an Eclipse 5504 CD player in the dash of my Truck. It looks great and sounds great. But it skips on its own. I can be at a stop light and "SKIP"!, the CD's i play are not scratched, dirty, or off balance. The CD Player will skip 2-3 times a CD, sometimes 2-3 times a song missing 20 seconds here and there. What might cause that?

And the other problem im having is, im hearing a steady tone, sometimes its a hiss (CD) or a high pitched kHz tone thats only heard when the volume or in between songs on the radio. What could cause that? all the wires are good, the ground is tight and clean.

I talked to the shop manager from where i bought the Head Unit from and when i go to pick up some amps he wants me to fill out a form so he can send in the form and get a brand new unit to replace my current one. I have a 99 model 5504, sounds like ill be getting a 55040. Im just curious cuz i like to know what the problem is or might be.
