I own a Pioneer 4000ub. When the unit is on pause at volume 0 it is silent.When the volume is turned to 30 (still on pause) it has background noise. It is like its amplifying nothing. By the time its at volume 50 this background noise is even louder. I have tried exchanging the unit already. On the initial hookup it didnt do this but after the first burp it did. I have tried sharing a common ground. I have also tried grounding the rca's. Any insight on this would be appreciated.

do have have a cd that plays digital silence or 0-bit?
