Hi everyone, I'm having a problem with my Alpine iDA-X001 head unit that I'm hoping someone here might help me resolve. I loaded some .mp3 files that play fine on my computer on to my USB thumb drive and plugged it into the head unit in my truck. It plays the songs, but only through the tweeters, and not the main speakers, so there is almost no bass. When listening to the radio, everything plays just fine. I've tried converting the songs to .wma formats and they still play, but have the same "no bass" problem as above. Like I said, they play just fine on my computer.

I'd greatly appreciate some advice!

Thanks,

Dennis

What kind of truck?

One possibility is that is if your car has an internal amp and you are using only the blue ant wire to power it up instead of the blue/white amp turn on. (the blue ant wire powers down on any other source but tuner)

The truck is a 1996 Dodge Ram 3500 CTD. I haven't "added" anything to the sound system in the truck, just took out the old radio/cd player and put this unit in. So I'll be sure to check that out, I just need to swap out the blue wire for the blue/white wire, correct?

Thanks a lot for your help!

yes that is correct. If you have an adaptor harness use the blue/white wire from the alpine unit and connect it to the blue wire.

Yep, switch the power antenna lead and the remote lead. No doubt that is your problem.

I have that deck as well. How do you like it?
