Alpine
Good quality, pretty good vibration resistant and you can use the MUTE for rolling your volume

Pioneer, because they have decks with high pre amp voltage(mine isn't) also good against vibration, cost isn't overwhelming, they sound good too, and also have changer controls and make changers to use with decks. Actually I'm not sure if they are still making changers, but I know you can get slightly older models that will be changer compatible.

I do also agree on Alpine. The deck I used to have was a 9847 and it was great for spl. It was about a half db louder than the Pioneer that I have now, but the only problem is that it quit playing cds. That sucked so I sold it to a guy I work with for $20 and he used it with his Ipod so he could still listen to music on it. To my knowledge it is still working to this day, but still doesn't play cds. The Pioneer I have is older than the Alpine and still works great. It's from 2004 and I have no issues with it. The worst deck I have had was an Eclipse cd5000. It sucked because it had no pause button.
