Have one of these on order...and if i decide to go through with it, will be installed, not this tues but the following tuesday....just wondering if anyone has used one, or a similar alpine unit in a high spl street beating system ie 148+ db ???

any thoughts?

I love my 205, but I'm not in your league for dB. I run a 10W7 with a 500/1 in a sealed box - never had a skip. I would think you'd have skipping issues but I really don't know.... Are you going to run the 701 processor with the 205?

Depends... What are you going to run for a front stage? Are you going all active as far as xovers are concerned? SQL or SPL? Amps for front stage?

going for more spl/bassrace.....eventually i'm gong to replace the factory speakers with a kicker component set, then add an ascendant audio 7in midbass driver to the driver and passenger doors....sundown audio for the amps

I don't think you should drop the $ on the 701 untill you're going for more of an SQ or SQL set up. The 701 gives you crazy control, but that won't do you much good untill the day comes that you're ready to go all active and have dedicated channels off your amps for each driver (along with good/great components and great install of components). JMO [Wink]
