Finally got around to installing the Phase Linear/Jensen UV8 indashes in mine and train's car this weekend.

Wow, holy easy batman. You don't even have to hook anything up to the brake. Just install it like a regular HU, there is a brake bypass in the options menu.

Its pretty bare bones, there's only 2 skins to choose from, blue and blue green, haha. Super basic menus to go through, not fancy enough to have anything confusing. Weird sub out though, it's just one blue rca. Get a splitter and you're good to go, don't know why they do that, kinda goofy.

If you're not an audio snob who needs a fancy name, pick it up. I got it the day after thanksgiving for $299, can't be too much more now.

I find it kind of rediculous now that I used to spend up towards $500 for a regular CD player, seeing as I can get a touch screen indash dvd player for $300 [Smile]

btw, thanks for the help installing this weekend (lilbums and RJ Warren)

I used to have a 9311ts in my work truck, and i used and abused that thing daily and it never gave me any hell. Sold it to a friend and he still uses it daily without any hint of a problem

Customers who buy the VM9312 off me often call and ask if they can return them cuz the sounds quality to their Boston or JL amps sound like dookie.

Well if they are buying a low end unit and expecting it to preform like a unit 2x the price, then thats the problem. I got mine for $300, i wasnt expecting the world out of it, and it serviced me just fine (granted, i was just powering 4 stock speakers in my work truck)

For the price, lots of features. the 9312 definitely more reliable than the 9311's. Those used to have issues with the volume knob going haywire. And for some reason, more often when they are cold, like from the A/C blowing off the back of the screen and down over the control panel. sounds weird, but I've seen it probably 10 times.

it was more that once the knob got cold, you could not turn the deck down, trying would actually raise the volume. then sometimes it's start going down then up real fast. just weird
