i was looking around head units and i came across this, im sure its been posted here before... but i just don't understand why its so expensive... because its digital, arent alot of head units digital these days for a fraction of the cost? is this just a super sound quailty unit? or would it be excellent for spl to? i just don't understand the high price for what it is? maybe someone can shead some light on the subject...

thats the rolls royce of head units. if im nto mistaken thats just hte tip of the iceberg. you need the rest of the processors and stuff to run it all properly. it ends up like 6 grand or so. I

Yeah... You have to run the C990 D/A converter or the H990 processor (or 2!) to use that HU. To run with just the C990 it's around $4,000. To run with the processor it's around $5,500.I think it's about $7,500 to run that HU with 2 of the H990 processors. I don't think I'm alone when I say that's the control I'd have for my dream system!!!! I don't know of a HU/processor combo available anywhere that holds a candle to that Alpine F1 system. Martin
