well i never had this happend to me before in the neon. In the project car the HU starts to skip at 46.5db on about 5 frequencies for burps. Anyone know what the cause is or what the solution would be?

 -

The tone cuts in and out, this was the 2nd test of the project wired to 1.5ohms to 1 amp, I know theres more to gain with this test setup if I can keep the HU from skipping [Frown] I tried rolling the volume but again 146.5db comes up it starts to skip or pulsate?

Eggy, it's Sprague...

In the Nissan, a regular CD would skip, I just burned the tracks to a disk as MP3 files, the oversampling allowed a good 5-10 seconds before it would ever skip...

Might have the Civic done for Smithers show

try isolating the headunit from mounting points by using rubber washers etc.

foam, rubber, etc.. something to isolate the headunit as much as poss from continual vibration..

If the music catcher is anything like a regular buffer, that will do man, You need that 3-5 seconds, if it can play from stored memory for that long, you should be good

its got a 45 sec memory and can hold up to 3cds in its memory I may go that route? Dont really know if drag allows a hard drive in a cd player though???

Hard drive isn't what you want. you need something that is solid state... something that holds it's memory in a chip or the likes of...

I doubt they care much about being stored on a harddrive/mp3 player/cd players storage, or burned as MP3s, I dont see where playing it from any other media would be an issue or could make you louder.... some of the guys a little while back I remember seeing running tape decks man
