I've got a CD5000 and no info in my manual as well, but I believe it's the "telephone mute" wire. Previously with my Eclipse 8443 I didn't tape that wire off and had issues with it. Eclipse told me to ground it and then just tape it off so it doesn't touch anything.

A couple amps...
And a couple batteries...
