i was testing this weekend and i notice my panasonic cd player heats up very fast like in 40 secs. in a minute or so it damn near to hot to touch on one side of it.i run 16 volts to my amps and run the hu off my regular vehicle power supply.do ya think my cd player is finally going bad.it 2 years old.

How do you run two seperate voltages? Do you have a second alternator?

10 8 volt batts for my amps.the hu runs off the 12 volt under the hood.no alt to the batts

My old JVC used to get really hot. Personaly I would just keep using it and if it does fry replace it.
