ok i have an issue with my deck it's in my sig area, any way when i turn my truck off i get a pop noise i've tried other decks and this is the only one it does it with. my guess is that the amp is turning off to fast or to slow. (i'm thinking it's staying on to long) so does any one know how i can fix this or ideas? i've tried using a relay to make it stay on just a little longer and that made the noise even worse.

my next idea is to try a polarized cap inline on my remote wire. and then i guess i will try and just use the switched wire (red) on the back side of the dvd player.

so any one else have idea's or had this problem with pioneer decks?

the cap might work, that unit plays dvd's so the rca out might have a real hot output, 4volt+ back in the day we would run a half farad to get around the sq judge the pop would bleed off, also recheck your amp ground.

i kinda ruled the ground out but i'll check it again. reason i ruled it out is my alpine deck has 4V pre outs and didn't do it. so you put that big of a cap inline on your remote wire? i was thinking one of the little ones from radioshack like the 3300uF 25v ones or is it way to small?

yes 1/2 farad, on my pioneer i had just a bad amp ground, so the only good ground was flowing through the rca's some decks only do 4volt out in a curtain mode.

i tried a small cap (3300uF) and the amp stayed on for about 15-20 sec's after the dvd player turned off and it made two smaller thumps as the cap was losing power. so i unpluged the RCA's and tried it and no thump so now i'm looking for more idea's. oh and ground is good.

i'm thinking i may have to send my dvd player back out for service or i'll just get my money back...

i will tell you how to do it. take a 1000uf cap ground the short lead. take the long + lead and solder it to the cathodode side of a 5-10amp diode (the marked end, has a stripe normally). now tap ur red wire from ur headunit to the other end of the diode, wrap with tape and play!

do you have any kinda signal prosessor? if so you will need to delay the shut off for that first.

tried that but it didn't work. amp would stay on longer but would still make the pop off noise. thank you for the idea though !

i see you have a pioneer that could also be ur problem they are WELL known for have grounding problems. my distributor carrys them but i have had tooooo many problems with pioneer headunits, with there grounding...

yeah same here with the pioneer's but this is the first time i've ever had pop off noise. and when i installed every thing i ran a amp referance ground to try and prevent this type of thing. but it didn't work so now once again i'm open for more ideas.
