Does any company make a CD changer with RCA outputs so that I could hook it up to an EPX2 or do they have those dam brand specific outputs?

What I would look for is a cd changer with a preamp controller instead of an fm modulated controller. I know clarion used to make one (the 1060) and Alpine also made one(don't know the part #). That would be the easiest way to do it. The only other way to do it would be to get a fm modulated cd changer of your choice, and go into the fm modulator and hardwire(solder) a set of rcas to the signal before it enters the modulator chip. You will have to use a preamp with a volume control(the epx2 does), because the controller will have a set output voltage. Depending on the type of components you use, you may also have to have a line driver, depending on the voltage out you get.

yeah, the sony's use rca preouts....if you get a top model changer w/an optical output, you could use that also....

There was an article a year or two back in CA&E that had a guy that just used a changer and the controler and modified it so that he wouldn't need a head unit.
