Whats up people. I have a pioneer p98r (the one with the flashing lights. My buddy wants to sell his alpine 7949. Anyone know anything about this unit? Is it better? I love the pioneer but I hear that the alpine's sound quality will kill the pioneers, even though it doesnt look as cool. Thanks for the help people!

I'd go with the alpine, but wait for the fantom faces to come out. They had some problems with the displays, which is why they were delayed till sept. But the displays on the new alpines should be pretty sweet, so you might wanna wait, although it depends on how much money you wanna spend too.

The alpine may be somewhat better quality, but if youre happy with the pioneer then I'd stick with that. Unless he cuts you like a really great deal, then you might want to make the change, but I'd probably just keep the Pioneer. Just my 2 cents.
