I was talking with Danny B in the chat the other night, and he said that with the 2000 gm cars, there are certain wires you have to bypass...called a bus driver he he or somthin like that. Can anyone help me out here. Im buyin a new car soon, and need to know. Thanx...is it just gm cars that have this?

I did an install several months ago in a '00 Cavalier, and I don't recall anything being odd, but, I have heard that the computer needs to see certain amount of output on wires or else it will register an error code.

I heard the computer needs to be "reset" if it sees a non normal load. I would call your local car dealer for more information, and talk to someone in service. This was info passed on to me by the owner of a 2000 GM car.

I was wrong, the ignition or switched wire on the stereo harness is not a true 12v and you can hook up everything off of the factory harness except switched power. you have to get switched from the ignition harness on key barrel. If you hook up the switched that is on the factory stereo harness you get an error with the oil sending unit, that has to be reset or fixed be GM.
