what class would a stock pick-up be in?
SUV
no, a SUV is a Sports Utiity Vehicle and a Pick-up is a Pick-up.
One has room, the other puts equipment behind the seat.
so what would those truck/suv's be rated at... besides i don't hear anyone say, im gonna take the SUV... i'd either hear them say, im gonna take the truck or im taking the expo, exploder, blazer, and what not

We dont have SUVs overseas. IIRC they were only named/classified SUVs in the US to overcome some emitions regulations?
Most cars round here are hatchbacks. There are trunk cars but not as many as hatchbacks.
And wheres NW? Thers a good 3db difference between the SS1-2 and NW, hardly fair to make NW guys play against walls.

i think the classes we havea good enough. don't change much., just fix the minor stuff, like amp rules, and so forth. if all the rule skeep going trhoughmajor changes people are going to give up totally on dbdrag. it's tough on everyone when things change so much!

I've said it once and I'll say it again. I'd love to see an actual street class. For example I have a wall tuned to 33hz and two batts. upgraded alt etc. But its a daily driven music playing ( ) vehicle. Why not have a class that must be played using lower frequencies. Like 45 hz or below. I know that if I went to any competition I'm gonna get my ass waxed by the SS guys with there one not wonder box and as many massive amps as they can power. Losing by 10dbs is not fun to me. Just an idea from a nobody. Also people love my car. It draws alot of attention for the ones I demo and play music for. Could maybe just spark some interest and get more people involved.

Why not leave the class structure as it is currently, but mirror it to create a seperate set of classes for those who are beginning (or thinking about beginning) to compete.
The mirror class structure could be called "novice", but would follow the same build restrictions as the "expert" class structure does. The only difference would be that the "novice" competitor would be a first year competitor, while the "expert" competitor would be one who has been into competition for 1 (or more) years.
This would allow a new competitor to build his/her vehicle to the current set of rules, and would allow them to not have to fear competing aganist some of the veterans of this sport.
There would be no need to restructure any of the classes.
If Wayne could re-write the software to allow judges to input "novice" or "expert" when registering a competitor, and allow for seperate tracking (as determined by the new input data).
At each event, the competitor must state if they are competing in novice or expert. The judge inputs that status into the log, and the rest of the qualifying remains unchanged. A novice could qualify against a expert, since the software would keep the two competitors logged into seperate "fields". After qualifying is complete, the software would seperate the novice from the experts, and form the appropriate bracket information.
Also, to help keep things from becomming confused...once a competitor competes under the expert class, they can no longer compete in the novice class. This could help people from "jumping" back and forth at various events.
