I think that ALL carīs has to be open to the public for AT LEAST 15-20min at EVERY show.
And NO blankets/sheets should be alowed to cover the the cabin.

If we want the sport to continue at this point, I believe all vehicles should be open or atleast available for spectators to look in for a time during the show. Maybe after qualifying, prior to brackets when there could be a break and structured time period to open vehicles to spectators.

As things stand now, I don't blame some for wanting to keep things hidden etc. Designs are being copied like crazy now more than ever.

People should not be allowed to cover stuff up on purpose.

In Estonia, we have this kind unwritten "rule".

This kind of attitude is promoted thru judges and best and loudest competitors.
Main problem was that loudest guys tryed to cover up their cars and new guys have no idea, how to build "loud" car and there was pretty big score difference between new and old guys. There is no motivation to compete, if one cannot make competitive score.

Also we (sound shops and best competitors) try to help rookies, because we have more time, money and equipment to do tests and so on.

dbdrag is very new in Estonia, that`s why we have managed to keep our cars open to spectators.

I think that is why everyone overthere is so much louder that over here. You all share ideas keep you cars open, help each other, But one thing is for sure if it was that someone could copy your design. then why are the same people still on top of the game and others are still strugling. Its like I said ever car is different, cab, box, port, tunning board, woofers, amps. unless someone climed in the box with a tape measure and measured everything in the box it might work but you only have to be off just a little to make the diffrence. Over here Superior Sounds done a 174.3 in extreme 1 there are pics all over the net but no one has doubled that install yet. I saw Jay Loveless ramps to the dash tried it and lost 3 dbs. 5 years ago I saw Loveless At a show and he is the one that inspired me to do this. Took me 3 years to get the money and build. I started Iasca, and a little show called Whitlee. Then this year stepped up to DB Drag. Im going to Finals my first year. If all the car were closed up then and covered up I would have never been intrested in doing this. I would not have got to see the crazy thing that were done. But thats my opion. My car will always be open. No matter how loud I get.

i see both sides of the issue,
i can understand the time, MONEY and dedication it takes to make a top dogg winning design, just to have someone copy it, without no compensation for your work.

i also understand that covering up the vehicles hurts the industry, and as a spectator sport, its not to spectating looking at a covered up vehicle.

99% of the time copying dose not make theres any better.Mine dropped 3 db by trying something that I seen. We are never going to get loud if we dont start helping each other. LOOK over seas and SEE why they get LOUD they open and help each other.

Maybe that is because when you buy exact the same as we have , and i even give you the same box , you will still be 3 db behind, there is 3 db found other then working on the box or just putting in more power . People talk about copying but you can never SEE the little tweeks that makes a car loud . Ok you can get close , maybe even to 0.5 db , but by the time you would get that far we would be even louder and the one that "copied" would most likly have something compleetly different because he did not get the same score as we did .

I say , cars open at comps . No coverup and blankets . when you are driving around ok , dont want people with bad intensions to see whats in the trunk .

How can dB Drag be a spectator sport if the spectators cant see inside the cars??

No front tints, no covers, nothing hidden.

Show it off or shove off [Razz]

^? what does front tint have to do with anything, put the freaking windows down... I like the extra little bit of security.

I should have put front windscreen tints [Frown]

Im not against tints, they look good and security is better. Winding windows down would solve it though [Smile]

Im on about limo black, darker than a dark thing, tints [Smile]

Here at our shows, we make an effort to leave all the cars open, let people look. Our EX 1 vehical is ALWAYS open and we are alsways willing to let others look and explain stuff.

Kudos to the suggestion.

I totally agree.
My car sits all day long uncovered with zero tint, at every show I attend.
I could care less if someone wants to try to duplicate it. Like someone said earlier, by that time I'll have something different.
