In the new rules, I was wondering what the verdict would be on aftermarket racing seats. Are we allowed to be in street and have the tuner seats?

I am sorry if this was already discussed. I had a hard time finding the answer to this question.

It depends on the type of seat. check with your nearest certified judge to find out if their legal or not.

Steve, you are a certified judge? Correct? If so, and you are the nearest judge available (since you are reading and responding to questions), can you provide a definite answer to the question? The seat in question has already been identified, so the only thing remaining is an offical response from you (or any other certified judge who wishes to post a definite answer). Thank you.

Sid, I think the problem is "No Judgements can be made here" and the items in question need to be seen in person. [Cool]

yep, bring it to the next show that I do and I can tell you yes or no.

This is what will happen. I will say that yes those seats in that picture are ok. The competitor will then try and find blue racing seats. Those seats will cost $1,000,000 each and the competitor will choose a different type of blue racing seat, after all, I already sad blue racing seats are ok. He'll buy the cheap ones, throw his old ones away, go to several local shows all year and attend a multi at the end of the year where it will be demend illegal. He'll say, " dBSteve said racing seats are legal and I have used it all year and I have thrown my old ones away, whay whay whay etc etc etc. Then what happens????

I would venture to say those exact seats, in the picture, would be acceptable. Although like Steve says, I will not give anything the O.K. based on a pic. Steve, and myself have found this will get you in trouble, every time.

Basically, if it wasn't a factory seat at finals it wasn't legal. Our van, leallen's van, scott's van, david's van, all those seats were not legal. I could be wrong on david's seats, not sure what they were made for though, maybe you could help us out?

I dont know what you dont understand...

Were there any seats at finals that we could use as examples that are not legal this year? And if so why are the illegal?

Thanks
