I have an extended cab ranger...bewteen the jump seats in the back, there is a panel that hides the jack....does this panel have to be installed or can it be removed?

thanks. the panel is like a cover that you latch onto the back wall to hide the jack and all. I just need to know if I can remove the jack and the cover. I think the cover is like 12" tall at it's highest point, 12" wide, and 6" deep. it resides in between the jump seats....my jump seats fold to the back instead of to the sides. and the panel sticks out slightly more than the jump seats.

In ever street pickup I have ever seen, this "user removable" panel has been removed. This is very similar to removing the parcel shelf in a hatchback and the spare tire and jack out of the spare tire well and has always been legal.
