want a judges opinion
where is the line crossed on this one...if the battery sticks out of the stock location how far before its considered illegal...or is it not illegal at all

this question is mainly for a crx...with the new amp ruling i'm sure someone is going to try and fit one of the bigampbatteries.com batts in a crx...this battery is 30 inches long..battery trays are already chopped to sh!t just to get a 1700 or g31 in there...i had to beat the fender just to get mine to fit..so like i said how far is too far

I brought this up several times in discussions but it kept getting looked over, quite possibly the most retarded part of the discussion. For those who say noone will do it you guys must of bumped your head and why they didnt do something about it in the rules is probably the same reason

I agree! And I don't know who said someone wouldn't do it...because if I can make it fit legally...you better believe I'll have it in my truck!

this is how the final rules are stated. this is straight from the final draft.

The physical size of each battery is limited to 800 cubic inches (13110 cubic cm) or less. (Height x Length x Width. Excluding the battery terminals.)

we got that much! Just didn't know how the judges would call it when a HUGE part of the engine bay has to be reconfigured to fit this battery....it's obviously not "Street" in nature and it obviously dwarfs the stock location. Some judges will allow it and we're sure some won't based on their history....we're just checking to make sure.

I dont see how they cant allow it being it meets everything they have in the rules, factory location and size arent a problem so its legal, just expensive

need we recall the fiasco last year at finals? We would like a ruling before we shell out the cash, use it all or part of the year....and then something change.

All we're asking is for the judges ruling.

Nothing is going to change with battery rules, there is nothing to change, especially since you have a group 31 optima. Now if you had one of those huge EPH batts and had to do a motor swap to fit it, there might be a problem.

Just because I have something listed in my sig....doesn't mean that's all i have sitting here to play with [Wink]

Based on history...this question is a valid one.

I got a question on this rule also while it is beeing discussed. Say I want to put a supercharger in my car, to do so the battery has to be relocated. They make kits to relocate it to a diff spot under the hood or in the trunk, depending on what supercharger kit you get. Are either of these legal for stock class?

ok here is a question.

ok DB DRAG is all for safty right(or should be)

now my batt. is located in my fender/bumper...

now this is a very unsafe place but some great mind(yeah ok) at chylser put it there.

now i have thought long and hard about the safty issues of being in a front drivers side bump or crash, the 1st thing to get hurt is my battery.

i have also wanted to relocate my batt. to the trunk for safty.

would that be not a good idea...i think it would but then i would be knocked out of street right?
