Today I was driving to work doing about 60 on a pretty busy highway when all of a sudden my gas pedal stayed flat on the floor. This caught me by surprise so I pushed the brake in and the clutch, which of course just made my engine rev to redline. So without thinking too much I shut my car off. This was good because I wasn't speeding up any more but bad because now my power steering doesn't work so good and the roads are nice and curvy here. I did some quick goat thinking and reached down, pulled my gas pedal backwards and started my car again to get the steering to work. I limp the car to work and look to see what happened. When SW installed my alarm they wire tied the brain to a wire bundle and it slipped down about 1/2" and when I pushed the gas down it hooked on the pedal and held it down. This really wasn't all that funny but I kept thinking I was going to have to come on here and make a post like Audiophyle's "another Honda bites the dust".

ouch man, sounds like something that happened to me in one of my old cars in my high school days, I was driving when all of a sudden my car begins to accelerate and i havent pressed on the gas i had to shut the car down and limp it to the side of the road, when I get there i pop the hood and what do i find? sludge built up on the area where the accelerator wire makes the gas pressure go up or down, and the wire was stuck in it wide open, needless to say i had to make a trip to autozone for some underthe hood cleaner and clean that up.
