Today in school I got banned from going online because i was on this site reading posts all day. this is the second time they warned me about it. they said the school has the the internet for educational purposes only I was in the office for 2 class periods tring to get my point across that this forum was educational. (Probably the most educational on the web.) Any ways they wern't trying to here that and banned me from the school internet. Damn now what can I do at school all day.

Hey be greatful the computers at your school even work.
The computers at my school are so slow it isn't even funny, simple tasks such has backing up one or two pages become an ordeal as the netscape 2.0 window (only version of any browser that works at all) chuggs along reloading the page instead of taking it from cache. And with an average transfer rate of about 500 bits per second uhh god. What is worse they expect us to use web pages and stuff for research activily in computer class. Hell, some idiot made our school web page with a cycling banner and it is the default home page. So you are busy waiting for a page to load, then the browser stops loading where you are TRYING to go and loads the crappy school pic on the page, you have to go to a different page on the site and hope it loads fast before you can even surf.
talk about a bunch of idiots, the tekkie for the school sits on his ass all day talking on his cell phone and does **** about it, it really makes me mad.

I feel your pain. I sit here and surf at work but no one cares. Hell everyone does it. I have talked to my manager on AIM and eventhough I can stand up and see her.lol...
But I dont know what I would do all day at work with no net....Moneybag knows what I mean..hehe

Oh My! That has really gott suck. Man this morning thats all I did at school was sit on there and read posts, after it took me a whole 20min 2 finish 1 mis and 1 ims test. Guess thats the advantage of goin to college as long as its not porn, guess you can look at it :o)

Hrm....being an educator, of sorts, I'd be more than happy to "talk" with your administrators in pointing out the educational aspects of this page. At least when we talk of DDs we're not clicking on thumbnails of Bonnie the Barbie Look-a-like
I do feel your pain though, the Net, and this site in particular, allow great "distractions" from work .

Well on that note... There is a chat site on the net that aol was banned from for about 10 days. I was as addicted to that site as I am here. I was like screw this and went and got a 2nd ISP. So now I hhave 2 plus the way I connect at work.

LOL , your being in the office brings up many of my own memories. I guess I feel your pain too... But my school computer memories are hacking the latest games on the then new Apple II computers .

Go above whoever banned you's head... Talk to the principal of your school, if need be. This IS an educational site, and being a moderator, give him/her my # and I'll speak with them..

Thor thanx for the offer but my autoCad class just got the internet and my drafting teacher is totally cool with me coming to this site he understands that it is educational. And if I complain to them then they will kick me off the internet in my AutoCad class too. so Ill just leave well enough alone

That's cool drop!! Always loved my tech-ed classes....got away with murder. Nearly blew up the school on a number of occassions - oxy-accelalene torches.....bang battles what fun!!!
