I had a customer and his "boyz" come in today. they needed a wiring harness for his 2004 Aztek. Many of you may know that's the Class2 databus system.
The customer's homeboy cut off the harness to bring it in and show me which one he needed. There's 3 purple wires of the same size, which is which when putting it back together? Let's hope he can figure that **** out.

oh lordy, he did NOT have the right wires. who knows if something blew up.

amp Power wire is running through the vehicles drivebelt, rubbed to the core over a 5inch stretch. no fuse. no grommet. rca's, power, and remote all running ABOVE the carpet on the passenger side, probably going to have noise until it catches fire.

WOW that shows that you should never let your buddie do an install in your car. a real installer knows that everything should be plug and play......and never never never cut the factory plug out, there are too many things going on in the factory radios other than the radio....keep us posted and let us know what he screwed up by cutting the harness........

he came back and payed us some good money to reconnect the factory harness, which was difficult cuz wires are the same colors, and they cut the wires VERY close to the harness. His dad made him pay us to reinstall the deck. then buy a new wire kit from us and reinstall the system. His father brought him in and was very mad at his son as we explained things. Now instead of "saving money" by letting his friend do it, which dad said "do not do that to my car"...the kid ended up paying twice as much as it originally would have cost. man, this was a while ago. I've seen stupider stuff, but I'll never forget this one anyhow.

sounds like he followed the rule that I heard from one of our customers a few years ago.

His rule was that if it doesnt fit "just cut that **** yo".
