So this morning started out better than most any other morning out there. I woke up next to a beautiful woman that I care about deeply and we had breakfast (that I even cooked) and life seemed pretty wonderful.
Then she went to work and I headed off to work.
She made it no problems and is having a great day.
I, on the other hand, never made it to work. I made it about 2/3rd the way and the car started to shake - doing about 65MPH on the interstate. So I decided to slow down and try to pull over. I was on the far inside lane, zipping right along, and so I pushed on the brake pedal, the front of my car fell to the ground and my front drivers side tire goes rolling off beside me. Yep, tire fell the F**K off my car doing 65MPH on the interstate.
Tore up my car pretty good, no major body damage, just rotor, caliper, lugs, etc. All in all - just a bit over 1000 dollars to fix. But it means that this year, my first xmas with my daughters as a single dad, is gonna be a sucky one. I have to find an alternative to get me some money so I can provide a great xmas day for them.

most shops double the price of the parts they get from the parts stores also. its really not hard to do at all. if you can put together a stereo you can do this. btw, i work at a parts store if you need some help.

I'm glad you're alright! Things will get better you just got to have faith. My Christmas was going to be pretty rough too. Well it still is, but nothing I can't handle. I have to choose between making my family members and friends happy or saving money for when I have no job as of Dec.31st. I work for a company called National Venders Service, and their assembly contract with Lowes is up at the end of the year. As of the first of the year Lowes will be doing their own assemblies. That's 1200 people who will be out a job. Not to mention that my everyday driver (a 1990 volkswagon vanagan bus) has just blown a head gasket, and no-one wants to mess with it. I have no money to fix it, and that only leaves me with the option to drive my Competition Van (which would have to be gutted or risk losing a whole lot of valuables). I'm still trying to figure out what to do. Luckily a friend has donated $200.00 for me to finish Christmas shopping. For some reason I think God likes me! So don't worry. Things will work out.

Xmas itself will not "suck". Its not gonna be quite as happy as I had originally planned or hoped for, but it will not "suck". I get my daughters this year so there is no way it will suck. I have spent everything I had left for them though. Several outfits of clothing (thank you to the wonderful woman I am seeing for helping me choose them - cause dad sure as hell has no taste in clothes). And I got them both digital cameras and my oldest a portable dvd player (9" screen) and my youngest a PSP.
Now, I know it sounds great - just know I am counting on a fundraiser to get me out of debtor's prison later this month.....ok?

sorry to hear about that. find out who put the tire on last, obviously they didnt tighten the lug nuts enough. most places tell you to retighten them after 25-50 miles, or has some kind of disclaimer like that.
