Three Months ago i got my amp jacked out of the back of my truck bed. heres the thing however, i know the kid who took it because i live in a small town of 3 thousand people. people have seen it in his trunk and then people told me he sold it because he knew i would try and take it back. The thing that pisses me off the most is the cops did absoultly nothing about it. They sat on their ass while he was running around with it. It wasnt the most expensive amp but im only 17 and have a crappy job that doesnt pay alot so its hard to get 600$ to buy a new amp. i eventually got a new one.

tough break but this is nothing compared to my luck, I have had different systems 4 years running now, the first system I have had was 2 crossfire 12s and a legacy amp, someone busted my window and stole that system along with my pioneer cd player(I found out who did that as I live in a small town also, and then I live in some apartments now and had two audiobahn aluminum 12s and a 2000 watt amp in a vented box, and also my newer pioneer cd player, then I bought A TOUCHCREEN JVC CD player along with my girlfriends sony explode flip out cd player a few weeks later, now I have had some bad luck...

x2, the lack of periods, paragraphs, and commas, along with the one continual sentence that started with one point but made no points after it was all said and done for. must not be an ENGLISH major.

Shane got most of his english skills from people in the south. He just somehow managed to figure out what the comma, period, colon, and all the symbols ment.

In 1992 I had my entire system jacked out of my ride sitting in the parking lot while I was at work. It was my own fault really - I got too close to a person and they seemed interested in the sport so I showed them exactly what went into the installation of my system. Stupid me - it just gave them ideas on how to take it OUT of my system. And that is exactly what they did.
I called the cops - they took over 2 hours to come 2 blocks to the parking lot and "investigate". After a few months of my own questioning - I found a "friend of a friend" who filled me in on the situation in that town.
Turns out - one of the "responding officers" runs a ring of stolen goods - specializing in fencing car audio products to another area out of town but not too far away.
It took probably 4 years before I ran into this kid again - luckily for him - it was at the parking lot of a hospital. He needed their services when we were done exchanging "comments" and I felt "slightly better". I later collected evidence regarding the "responding officer" and it resulted in his loss of gainful employment and THAT felt even better. I never did see my equipment again - but I have since built bigger and better systems - so life goes on.
All I know is I got my retribution.....and it felt pretty good Posts: 1320 | From: Lawrence, KS | Registered: Jun 2005

WAY back when, about 1995 I had my Cavalier broken into, took two Alpine 3522's and an Earthquake amp. I had the serial numbers for both the Alpines.
About 4-5 years later I see an add in the "Trading Post" for two Alpine 3522's for sale. I called up and was very interested!!!!!
I got there, the guy who was my age, said he had a reciept from a local car audio chain, Sight-n-Sound in Cincinnati, OH....yep they were both mine. The seller was scared and he called the cops right then! Cops took report, then we all went to the S-n-S where the purchase took place. Of course they denied buying stolen goods, but had no reciepts. I told the cop I wouldn't press charges on the guy who thought he bought legit amps, but the cops busted several installers who had outstanding warrants.
Got a call about a week later from the OWNER of S-n-S apologizing for the incident, he asked how could he make it up to me. I told him I've no proof one of your installers took the amps, just one of his stores failed to run the serial numbers, which I'd reported to Alpine as stolen. To make it up I simply asked for a KILLER deal on two amps to replace the three that were stolen. He told me which store to goto and I purchased a MTX 2160 and 4160 at his cost.
