Let's just put it this way...don't work on a car after just coming home from 3rd shift (especially 12 hour shifts)! No matter how much caffeine, those wires all look the same damned colour!! Adapters? Who needs adapters? We're really swift today, let's just splice it and try to match the colours up....*doh*

UB
Think that was 96 or 97

LOL! Tell me about it! I remember when I first got my Panasonic HU, and tried to install her. It was like 1:30 in the morning, I had just gotten back from the night out with friends, and my contacts had protein build up pretty bad. All the wires looked the same to me! I ended up re-wiring the stupid thing like 5 or 6 times before everything was right...What a bitch!

lol, i have installed ALL of my stuff when it has been dark out. We don't have a garage so we install all my stuff outside, and you all know how it is when you get a new toy, you want to hear it, so i have installed 2 systems with the average finish time of 11:30 pm, nice and dark, and that is tough, not funny, but im sure it is like this with all of you

Thats funny, guess I am just a night person...I do my best work at night.. I remember I enjoyed doing my last big SPL system in my car while staying up working until around 4 in the morning...I'm sure my neighbors thought otherwise, with all the sawing and such..

No kidding. My 21st b'day, my G/F (now wife) throws me a party. We have a show the next day so my buddy and I cut out at around 8pm and work ALL night on my bro's blazer. Holes were cut in to the door at 2am outside (good thing we lived in a condo complex NOT!)
while I finished the box in the basement.

We wired it up ON THE ROAD as my bro drove 3 hours to the show.

Not so bad... We once did the install AT THE SHOW. 2 day show and I new the promoter so I snagged a booth and we put on an 'install display' the day before judging. That was dumb..... But we came in 3rd....

I lived in a third story apartment about 1.5 years ago. Me and my roomate went to get some wood to build a box a broght it back to the complex were we lived. We then droped an extension cord from the third story and began to cut. We made saw horse and a box in the lawn down below. The next day we got a notice from the apartment complex saying we couldn't do that any more, so the next time we just carried up the sheets to the third floor apartment, what a bitch, that **** is heavy!!!! Then we procedded to cut the sheets in out living room! What a RIOT!! It was loud then we started up the jig saw....BANG...BANG...BANG went to the door two cops standing there! "You all know what time it is!!???!!!" "Sorry osifer no?"(dumb look and coughing from the sawdust! ) "You all need to quit!!!!"
We had like three notices for noise and like 4 eviction notices!!!

Wow, talk about dedication to the cause!!!
I know a couple of guys who go to the car wash late at night, mostly in the winter, and hope they don't get kicked out. I simply refuse to install outside. I've always been lucky enough to have a place indoors to work. It's important up here in Canada with
-40 weather in the winter. Just got heat in my shop this past week. I'm pretty happy about that. Previously I'd have to quit for a few months in the winter. The glue and silicone doesn't set, it just freezes!

When I decided to install my second system, I did it in my parents garage. Had everything hooked up, turned the gain up about half way on the amp, but in ginuwine and put it to play pony, opened the garage door, turned the stereo up half way, and managed to piss off not only my parents who happened to be sleeping, but all of their neighbors, one of which happened to be a cop, and one was a judge. Needless to say, they werent't real happy with me at the time. I mean hell, who actually sleeps at 1:00 in the morning anymore, unless they are passed out, or doing something else.
