Havent been jacked in the 4+ years of doing car audio stuff, now my Hifonics amp got jacked! Wasnt even installed.

I took it to a friends house last night to finish up the trunk redo, including the amp rack and false floor (which will look BAD ASS when they are done) and kept it in the trunk overnight so I could rewire it today!

NOW ITS GONE! Must have been taken last night, byt some assholes. It's Christmas time too, and I don't want to be pissy, but I could beat the living shiznit out of anything that talks to me!

Crazy thing is, my ALpine deck is still there and nobody knew the amp was in there. On top of that they came up in my yard and invaded my property.

Deductible with insurance is $250 bucks, and even if I find the highest available price now on the net, I still only get $200 or so bucks back. SUCKS! I wish I could whup somebody's ass right now!

My blood pressure is skyrocketing right now so I'm gonna stop typing.

Cooled down a bit. But called Sheriff's dept and tried, TRIED to file a complaint, but the lady said she would have to call me back b/c there were more importannt matters. I could have slapped her!

Where at in SC [Confused] I am truely sorry to hear this news [Frown] Did you have a alarm? For some excellent security tips check out my post thread in the 'auto security' under "ALARM SUCCESS STORY and other theft prevention tips from a alarm installer. MUST READ!" It's on the second page.
I do wish my story was yours also.
It almost sounds like someone knew that you were going to be there at that time and planned.

Take care of yourself. I know your anger and you have every right to be, but remember 'they' are feeding off your anger. My ride was vandalized before and I stayed in bed while the anger was eating me alive.

Charleston, SC

Unfortunately no alarm and if I ever put anything back in that trunk I will have it secure with specialty bolts, and it would be easier now b/c I have a false floor to screw onto.

Also, I pulled my Alpine deck out just in case they thought they would come back for it. I know it was somebody I know and I also know the cops arent going to find it.

UPDATE: Insurance company is screwing me.

The amp is almost 3 years old and I have long lost the box. Purchased online and only receipt I had was lost through numerous PC reformats. Since the insurance company, State Farm, has no visible proof that I owned this amp (I showed them my webpage and they still doubt me) and I have no receipt they are going to give me $100 dollars.

Why only 100 bucks? B/c they looked locally and the 'comparable' 1500 watt amp around here costs $350 bucks. Bullcrap if you ask me.

So I get $100 bucks out of this. I will dismantle the unlucky f'er who stole that amp.

Well, CCS just called me and since the amp wasnt physically connected to the wiring it falls under Home Owners insurance.

We have a $500 deductible for Home Owners insurance so I won't see a damn dime. So basically I have been paying State Farm for nothing at all. Basically paid State Farm an extra $20 a month to have somebody steal my amp from me and then have them no help me. They have helped absolutely none and have had me bent over a damn table since I called them.

I hate damn thieves!

Watch your "friends" very closely the next few weeks, see if any of them are kind of stand offish or acting differantly.
How many people were around when you put it in the trunk? Or how many people knew it was there?

Definatley get an alarm system. It isn't going to totally stop thieves, but it will deter the hell out of them. Don't skimp on the alarm either, the more features (light outputs, paging, etc..) are better. Make that car light up like a damned christmas tree when the alarm is going off. Works like a charm for me.

Go to Radio Shack (or anywhere else you can find them) and get the flared 25-30 watt home security sirens. You might have to cut the plastic flare and leave the trumpet pointing out to fit in the engine. Believe me, they are VERY LOUD! [Eek!]
I have 2 in the engine and 1 regular 130db multi-tone car alarm siren along with a ADT piezo siren inside for pain generators. I also have a strobe inside to blind. When my alarm goes off, EVERYONE PAYS ATTENTION! [Wink]

Damn, I think I'm gonna be grabbing an alarm in the next months or so, before I put any more equipment in. Even then I'm gonna bolt the heck out of everything in the trunk.

Thanks for you input fellas!
