man, after constant hours of designing, measuring, and building i go to put my box in when i finish and come to find out it is too big for my trunk. I am so mad [Mad]
i did everything possible to get it in. now i have to take it apart and cut it down. so much stuff to do. sometimes i think of giving up, but i remeber how satisfying it is to build something of your own and love the results!!!

Unfortunately, having a box that <= the inner dimensions of your trunk is only part of it. Since the majority of trunks have openings that are only a fraction of the inner depth, I like to make a model out of cardboard first to make sure I'll be able to tilt the box in when it is finished.

i was goin to do that, but i got in a hurry to build it. oh and i did build it to the measurements and thought about the openings but something must have went wrong. trail and error i guess.

When in doubt you have two options. Cut or kick. Cut the metal or kick that bish in.

Yeah couple years ago when my friend and I built the wall for his car we had to assemble it inside the car [Smile] Isn't hard either.

well i finally got it in. i was goin to mash the bottom of my trunk opening to make it flat and allow the box to slide in, but i decided it wasn't worth the damage. so i went ahead and trimed down the box an inch and there it was (after a few drop kicks)
well it's all about making mistakes. i'll make a new box soon.

thanks for the help guys

I disassembled my probes trunk to get my box in for it, it also took 4 people to get it in still. That L7 box was damn big.....
It still took like 4-5 people to get my new sealed box in, but it was made to be a pretty flush against the back seats maximum trunk space install, so the installer did a great job considering the task I think.

thats why i have always loved big open vehicles like xplorers, vans, exped, extended cab 4 door trucks.

you dont really have trouble fitting big boxes in those.

but im all about big speakers so i need alot of room.
