Well it's not really car audio but...I used car audio equipment for this. Back when I was in 8th grade I got a hold of 2 8" Pyramid Original(hey they were my gateway to BASS) for a Playboy magazine lol, I remembered that one of them was louder than the other - great quality control. I had a wal-mart fishtank lying around and at the time I was smart enough to know that an enclosure is needed for subs to make sound, so I cutout a piece of 1" plywood and stuck the subs in the fishtank inverted, the glass must of been like 1/8 inch or less, but it sure looked cool(maybe I should of added a neon). My "headunit" was a portable Sony 6 disc changer with the headphone out splitted 2 ways to a computer monitor with an awesome built-in 7 watts/channel amp, and a Profile electronic subwoofer crossover hooked up to a 13.8 volt power supply. The subs were hooked up to an old Pioneer receiver with 40watt/channel to spare, and my mid/highs were 2 sets of computer speakers and a pair of 4" Roadgear from wal-mart. At that time I still didn't understand the idea of impedance matching so I think the computer monitor was pulling around 1 ohm stereo, good thing it didn't blew up in my face. It was a rigjob but hell it was so loud I can hear it all over my house, I owned the loudest home stereo among all my friends in 8th grade...and thus started my quest for car/home audio.
