so is it or isnt it ok to bump to my hearts content as long as my windows are up? Although it probably rattles like a bitch, a few times i threw some nasty $hit down with my windows up and it dont seem to stop the bass from shaking peoples mirrors STILL.........it is funny to see the look on their face as my doors are trying to come up off the truck with every beat
it is a good way to argue that you were doing some responsible music listening. it makes for a good way to plead your case. i think it is like 88db from 50ft away(used to be i think it is lower now), very difficult to do with the windows up. it completely gets rid of the oh i can hear your music from a block away so i pulled you over argument from the police officer(who really is not actually doing his job, meerly speculation).
argument should go something like this. i have a stressful life and music is my escape. i thought i was practicing good habits by keeping my windows shut so no one would be bothered... actually request the video of the ticket to prove the windows were indeed closed.

all he has to do is "hear" you @ 50ft a local news cast did a thing on it when they passed it, a factory jeep that rolled down its windows broke the law, yet somehow they inforce it

i talked my way out of a ticket. cop stopped me in the country and said he could feel my bass when i drove by. but there is absolutly no noise ordance in affect til 9 and i got pulled over around 8 so i got off with a warning. and the price around her is tht the cops take your entire system.

Well I just got pulled over for the first time and asked the cop how the law goes here in chicago. If your in the city at anytime and you can be heard more than 75ft away thats a ticket. If you in the burbs same thing applies but after 10pm in the burbs if they can hear anything outside your can its a ticket. But he told me on the highway or e-way it can be as loud as you can get it.

I got pulled over in downtown Dayton for the same thing. I turned it up for no more than 30 seconds and I was getting pulled over. The cop said he was 6 cars behind me and it was vibrating his car. I ended up getting a warning.

I was on the road that runs to the county cop shop on this side of the town. I was bumping dirty south radio - dboy stance or somehting like that.
It repeats after 30 seconds in to the song like "bitch" 3 or 4 times and as I pull to the red, I look over and see a uniformed cop in civillian vehicle, and my stereo blasting the word bitch as I pull up. I am up to 3 sound ordinance tickets and $525 in fines. Next ticket is $600 I was told. They also dislike window tint. Front windows tinted, stereo, or even a license plate tint cover is out of the question in michigan.

Sorry to come to the party late just had to post here after milling about for a while. what is the sad part is the fact that bikes IE choppers and hogs or as I like to call them Mid-Life Crisis or the what not get to run around belching crappy motor sounds from straight pips right off the motor...yet ironically they never get pulled over. and you know that those damn things are crackin like mad have to be pushing out more db's when they are up on it then most audio systems. yet nothing you can slam down the streets here in Long Beach, CA louder then sin and not get pulled over on a bike because for the most part the cops are in Midlife crisis...its why they are such asses. I have a bike and I have NEVER gotten a exhaust ticket for it and I have gotten sound tickets for my stereo. sometimes you just have to laugh like you said. nothing you can do about it other then look at the cop and say as I usually do...."Yeah but did it sound good from 1200 feet away?"

my sticker is one of a little boy pissing on the initials for the city cops go figure why it is there
ok the price for a noise violation around here is 150 bucks the first time then it goes to 300 for the second and the 3rd time is they take your vehicle and you get it back minus the stereo equipment
are those penalties for every state?..
