i've never gotten a ticket for having it too loud, although i have had cops ask me to turn it down. i just act polite and turn it down, then turn the corner and crank it back up. my friend torrie and i were at sonic in his car with a walmart 12 and a xplod 444watt amp. it was in a prefab walmart box, sealed. he turns it up, and he's got his highs coming through his sub and it sounds like shat, but some cops came over and said they could hear it from over 150' away so we needed to turn it down. he was really proud after that. he didn't think people could hear him from 150' away. i laughed at him.

I can agree with parts of the people wanting more strict sound laws, I agree with most of you having people at 1 am come through here bumpin is pretty not cool, but on open roads away from people and such is fine I think. Stop lights, down, etc.. I read that first link about db drag and I have never personally competed but I felt so violated about what that was saying. They are so worried about noise, and from what I have seen you don't sit in an extreme van while it's burping. I also don't understand why the people don't see how much work and how much math and other things we put into this to make that last .1 db. When I had my last system in it was pretty loud, I'm sure not half as loud as some, but it def. made some people mad. I learned now and I don't bump. I'm putting in a system now and I'm probably going to hook up a toggle switch. Not only for neighbors but I don't want someone breaking and stealing my stuff. But yea they have too much time on their hands and don't know about 80% of the things they said are wrong.

"Boom cars are often used to announce the receipt of a new drug shipment to a neighborhood."
this has got to be one of the funniest lines in that article. Where i come from when they announce the drug shipment its either by walking down the street and saying its in or a call on the cell phone but they wont outlaw that will they.
Its just a suits way of staying busy instead of going after the real problems

so is it or isnt it ok to bump to my hearts content as long as my windows are up? Although it probably rattles like a bitch, a few times i threw some nasty $hit down with my windows up and it dont seem to stop the bass from shaking peoples mirrors STILL.........it is funny to see the look on their face as my doors are trying to come up off the truck with every beat
