Newbie here with a great story.....

My last competition I was in I got 1st, and that made 2-1st, and a 2nd this year...
So I worked really hard on my system, (1 yr in the making...) ported the box completed my false floor, hid all wiring cleaned it all up, you know all the finishing touches. .all before my last comp. of the season...

well anyways a few nights before the comp, it rained hella hard and to make a long story short, our storm drains were past capacity, and my vehicle was parked at a low the lowest pint in the driveway... before I realized what was going on outside I heard a crash downstairs, boom 3 feet of water in basement, and water past the hood of my vehicle.... not a pretty sight, so its now a couple weeks later, the explorer was flood totaled and thankfully the major parts of my system were untouched by the water... got 6grand for the ex, not a whole lot but I'm not complaining.....
This finds me having just bought a 2k1 cavalier z24, week and a half ago, right off the bat One of the doorspeakers died.. so an excuse to put in the audiobahn components from the explorer... next the check engine light came on... went to dealer ship overnight for warranty work.... came home... a couple days ago grinding was coming from tranny...
went to dealership got the wonderful news that I need a whole new clutch, flywheel, throwout bearing etc... all adding up to $1200, and I thought I was up Sh!t creek before?!?!?!
So finally actually come thursday I might be able to drive my new car for more than 2 days in a row, and might be able to put a system in...

to top this all off when getting the stuff out of the explorer I forgot my Head units wire harness, and I am still looking for the one from my eq...
lost a bunch of 0 guage cable... and other things...neons, strobes etc...

yeah I know wah wah [Frown] crybaby

just something to make you thankful for what y'all have....

later,

newbie dave

Wow, for a 2k1 Cav that sounds like the previous owner bagged the crap out of the throttle.

evidently, now that I found out...
there was a high performance clutch put in that the previous owner neglected to tell the dealership about, this would be okay, but whomever put it in neglected to tighten all bolts correctly and didn't re-install the cotter pin thingy to place the clutch flywheel assembly. so when the nuts came off the bolts and no pin to hold anything in place.... kablooie no more clutch, throwout bearing, flywheel etc....

At least I get it back today (hopefully)

later,
newbie dave
