why is it that car audio has to be like it is amps blow for no reason subs blow. Its all to complicated and STUPID...you would think after what 40 years of having this crap it would work well but no...Half of installing a system is not taking your amp and beating it with a batt when it dosent work....ANYbody elce ever have this kink of problem with car audio? Just never able to get an upper hand it always screws you over in the end.....

im done with all this its been screw up after screw up and im tirde of wasting my money.

Sorry to hear about all your mishaps...I have never had anything like this happen except blowing subs but It was my fault I was giving them 4x max power...other than that no problems ever.

where are you getting your installs done? without a good install the best equipment can be turned into scrap metal and sawdust.

ive probably been through like 4 installs in my car, and done like 20+ installs for other people...
still yet to have something break ---

use good equipment, well setup system designs, and clean clean clean installs!

I do all my own installs. I have only ever blown one sub (My fault) but now 2 months ago my CD player craps out on me (a 300$ kenwood) and it cost me $50 to fix that. Now my jbl 1200.1 go's up in smoke for no appearent reason. We will see how much this will cost me.....I just get so mad at times with this stuff. But i love it so ill get over it i guess.....

your equipment can only be pushed to its limits so many times before it breaks. And if you are not pushing it to the limits you will not be on top for long. If you want your Spl to keep up either you must know your equipments limits ( when to buy better) or you will destory some of it. That is just the way it is and will be.

why don't you try something with more power, so you can get the same amount of power as the JBL but not run the amp at its limit. Like the Lanzar d3000m ($250) or d2000m ($180) from ebay. I just got the d2000m and it puts out around 1200 watts rms @ a 2 ohm load, 1600-1800 at a 1 ohm load. The Jbl only does 1200 at 1 ohm right? Just a thought. Then again I'm not a big fan of JBL [Wink]

Is it worth fixing or worth spending an extra $100-$125 for a new amp plus warranty? I just thought you might want to go with something else. Iv'e heard alot of people say they have problems with those amps and then again some don't. I guess they're like Saabs some people have luck with them and some don't. [Big Grin]
