Ok so I walk outside to leave and i see the puddle of water leading into the garage. So im like ok its never gotten wet in there before but i better check it out. So i walk in the garage to see the whole bottom panel of my box completely soaked in water. Its already soaked through half of the 3/4 inch mdf, and id say before the day is up the whole bottom panel is going to be full of water. No point in moving it now its fawked beyond fixable. All that work ruined 2 weeks before the biggest show of the year for me, looks like i wont be attending now because money is already tight and i cant afford a box of screws let alone another piece of wood. Oh Shtty dud! That's always the most painfull killer. Something like that happend to me. I put rags unger the lid of my hatch so it would make a tighter connection and stop trunk rattle. Anyway, when it rained, the rags soaked up so much water and just transfered that water from outside of the crack, to ON my box. The whole top sheet(after a day and night of rain) was all soggy. I was surprised that the 9515 didn't cave it in. (it was firing up)

you'd be surprised how resistant MDF is to water...it's not like particle board.
at the shop there was an old box sittin outside by the wall for the longest time...months i'd say. Living in Louisiana we usually get a decent amount of rain...most of the time that box would have water sittin in it from the last shower. Even after over a month of that it was still pretty strong, i wouldn't have used it but it still had strength. So if you can move your box DO IT!

The only worse than that is when you get to the last screw installing a speaker with a screwdriver or drill and you slip ...haven't screwed one up like that for years, but always afraid I might.

glad to hear you saved it...was hoping you wouldn't just tear it apart cuz it got wet! MDF is great stuff eheheh
sIMON...i hear ya on that one. And now that i'm working at a shop i face that threat practically daily lol. only thing is...i put a hole i have to pay for it cuz it's not mine only did that once in 2 months (got in a rush...BAD thing to do lol), but it was the cheapest sub we carry, a 10" Fultron Depth Charge. Woulda cost me maybe $15 but it was covered under warranty so i owed shipping only
