Last week at a local car competition i entered my blazer with 1 15" mmats series sub and 800 watts of power well the format was DB drag and my first run as against a ford bronco (smae car as mine but ford) and what does he have 4 kicker L5 and at least 2 amps if i rememeber right so i'm think this is stupid i have no chance to win this well we gettin goin and i c him hit 143.0 right away (and he stays at that) i start off burping(don'tremember what frequency's) 141.1 then 142.0
142.2 and that's where i stayed so he beat me only by .8 DB 143.0 to my 142.2 so i think that is pretty good and he had people sitting on his roof i had no one any where on my car so i thik that is pretty impressive but mab i'm wrong

Good score BLAZER no matter what peeps say to discourage ya. 1 against 4 is bad azz unless that one was like a quad coil but since it wasn't that was a nice score. It would be nice to know what mic that was on as well as people in here tend to brag on a score and never tell you what mic. That means all the difference ya know. Basically, as long as you are happy with your score then it's all good........ [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Good effort man, First you did not back down even though you did not have help from freinds like this guy did.
I have been there a long time ago and it is hard to remain motivated when you up against a guy with more stuff and more friends.

Suggestion for how to counter the old buddys on the car when you don't have the buddies on hand.

try tie downs and blocks wraped in cloth, wraped around your vehicle. and sench it tight but not so tight it bends the panels.

It looks tacky but it is a method.

God Bless and Good Luck

heheh...know what? you're on here asking if that was a good score or not...

but he's prob sittin wherever he is thinking "damn...i had 4X the subs and twice the amps and i baaaarely beat him" [Wink]

it's always fun to keep up with or beat people with more stuff than you at local comps (or anywhere for that fact)...just try to keep it friendly [Smile] never know who you might become friends with...

hell yeah, i havent been metered yet, damn columbia doesnt have a spl meter anywhere, but im still adicted i dont need an spl meter to still want to make it louder [Roll Eyes] but it would be nice. oh yeah 9515 and soon to be working on a new 5 cu foot box. will be fun to beat a lot of people with much more stuff, when i only have 1 sub and 1 amp doing around 150, thats my goal. just need a new amp that does 1500 rms at least.

DDaudio: 150 shouldn't be a problem. I hit 150.8 with a 9515 in a 5 cf box in the trunk of a neon and it was my first competition ever. No upgrades to electrical system either. On a termpro mic. I was really proud. Nice job boominblazer. Gotta love beating people with more subs.

you should look into a d300hc if you want 1500+ watts from one amp

most put out somewhere around 1700 so it'd be great and they are super efficient. mines never been above room temp.
