got my license when i was 17. had that for 7 months then got a dwi. license was suspended for a year. i had 1 month of that year left and i got caught driving..... 2nd degree aggravated unlicensed operation, no insurance, no registration, stolen plates, no seatbelt, inadequate exhaust, one headlight out. i went to court got it all dropped except for the 2nd degree auo. that got brought down to 3rd degree. $100 fine, $30 court surcharge.

since i have had my license back i have gotten 3 speeding tickets....67 in a 30, 45 in a 30, and 83 in a 55. all were dropped to parking tickets.

19, only been pulled over for no front license plate on the Trans Am. I notice a lot of you say that you speed but are good driver. Not to flame, but that doesn't sound like good driving to me. I'm not trying to pick a fight but I have plenty of stupid friends who think they are good drivers with only a few wrecks under their belt. I also know a few people who actually believe they are better drivers when they drive high and drunk. Again, not to pick a fight, but you have to be careful what you boast.

I'm 18. Got my license at 16. Been pulled over somewhere around 12 times, but a lot of those are cuz I live in a small town and the cops get bored. On the other times, some of those I was definitely breaking the law. I consider myself to be a good driver even though I have a leadfoot. To the person that said this is a contradiction, I think that there's nothing wrong with going 100 on a straight road with no traffic. That said, I have done some stupid things. I was going about 80 or so heading into a curve on a road I drive regularly. Just going into the curve there is a dirt road that crosses the highway, so the pavement is dirty. Back end stepped out a couple of feet, but I got lucky and straightened it out. The other dumb thing I did was drive while sleepy. It was about 120 miles home. I made it about 115 miles. Fell asleep, drifted into the other lane. Jeep Grand Cherokee went into my lane to dodge me since I was in his. Apparantly I woke up at the last second or something cuz I swerved back and hit the side of the Jeep and completely demolished the boat he was pulling. Totaled out my truck and landed me in the hospital for a week. Crushed my right hand and arm. That's it though, luckily. My legs should have been broken. This was three months ago at the end of July. In fact, I talked to fourbanger earlier that day at a show at Audio Extremez in OKC. Anyway, I go to physical therapy 3 times a week. At least I always wear my seatbelt. That and my airbag saved me. As far as getting pulled over, here's the reasons I can remember:

speeding (I wasn't and I know that for a fact)

improper pass on right (drove around someone that was waiting to turn left)

four people in truck (taking someone home from party...it was either that or let him drive drunk and high...lol cop was related to him so it wasn't any big deal)

wreckless driving (speeding, but cop didn't have radar gun, so he said reckless...cop said i was doing 80 in 65, but i had just hit 90 when the TWO counties threw on their lights...verbal warning [Big Grin] )

speeding (71 in 45 work zone...convinced cop i thought i was out of work zone, verbal warning)

suspicious driving (cop just couldn't think of anything, but wanted to pull me over)

speeding (state trooper in an SUV...didn't think it was a cop...he was behind me for a while, probably had lights on for a while, but the were tiny lights on his rearview mirror that just pulse then pause for a sec...i think i just didn't look at him for long enough during each glance in the mirror to actually see the lights...warning said 71 or something, but i know i got up to around 85 with him back there)

speeding (75 in a 65, but i was going 79...straight road, 1:30 in the morning, he was the only other car on the road...i would have slowed down anyway if i had seen him earlier [just topped a hill] and had even realized how fast i was going...had just got out of some curves and hadn't gotten around to setting the cruise...my only ticket [Frown] not on my record though)

tag expired (dad had a new sticker at home for me...i just forgot to put it on...i told the cop to go ahead and run my tag and it would show that it was updated...he did and sent me on my way)

at least once, I think twice, i've been pulled over and never even been told why

So after all that, I've only had the one speeding tickets. No tickets regarding the wreck. I guess they decided I'd suffered enough. I've never seen a police report, so I don't know if it was actually declared as anyone's fault. I really liked that truck. It was a 2000 reg. cab stepside GMC Sierra, indigo blue metallic, 4.3L V6 (200 hp), automatic. 5% tint, fiberglass toneau cover, Pioneer Premier DEH-P520, 2 CompVR 10s, RF 250a2. Audio gear seems to have survived, but I haven't had a chance to hook up the HU and amp. Subs are fine, but box (prefab) was broken. As much as I liked that truck, I think I like my new one more. Now I have an '02 GMC Envoy, indigo blue metallic, 4.2L Inline-6 (270 hp!), automatic. Was going to spend my money on a nice system, something like a couple of SPs or something like that, but decided to wait. No sense putting that in then going to OU with no alarm. So I'm gonna get a killer alarm, 5% all around, buy a laptop for school (gotta do that regardless...), then I can start saving up for a system. I plan on just sticking the stuff I already have in there for now. Maybe by summer I can have what I want, unless I decide to save for dubs first (unlikely). Heh, maybe x-mas will take care of the alarm or tint or something...that'd help me out a lot and REALLY increase the odds of having a couple of 15s and a couple thousand watts by summer.

WHOA! geez I typed a lot...for those that actually read to the bottom, you're nuts [Wink] [Razz] [Big Grin]

Oh, and by the way, since my wreck, I've been driving slower. Of course, that's mainly cuz I'm working with one hand instead of two. That and I'm not as comfortable in my new truck yet as I was in my Sierra. That doesn't mean I haven't driven fast a little though... governor on the Envoy is at 107 [Big Grin] thats up from 98 on the Sierra...

LOL other day a few of us were going 45 in a 25 (on the main road around here) cops radaring us I saw the cop look at us too...Didnt even move. I guess they dont care until you do 2x the speed limit on this road or 10 over on other roads or 20+ on freeways or 15+ on highways. I was on a highway going 65 (speed limit is 55) some guy in a van passes me doing 70-75 car behind him pases me doing same and it was a Country Sherrif...didnt pull the other guy over either. Kinda weird that they dont pull over more people for speeding around here.

19 a pretty clean record
1 speeding ticket 55 in 30
1 following too closely, street racing spot busted and they pulled over 35 of 75 cars.
1 noise pollution, cop was waiting for me
7 times busted at street races and never arrested or ticketed. DB cops can't bust what they don't see.

I have learned my ways are bad and don't race anymore. Now i just try to be loud!

Yeah, woo proud of that 137 db you got a ticket for. I remember you showing that ticket off on your windshield at state finals, acting like that proves you're loud.

i got one of those!!! was pickin my gf from a community college. was drivin down a state road (55 mph and doin speed limit) and there's a small town right b4 the college. i didn't notice the 40 mph sign. i mean, the town was less than a mile long! the area was dead as hell!!! that was just bs.

next bs ticket i got was at my old apt. i pulled out and was drivin down the one street. there were cornfields on either side for about a good city block or so until houses were on either side of the street. i was clocked at 41. were they worried that i might run over an ear of corn??? i was so upset. i understand that if you break the law, you pay the price. but 30 mph in a 1 block stip of corn fields??? come on!

Hey that was with a small loaner amp that i hit 137 with. The week before my amp melted after hitting a 143. I needed the amp to show and didn't get a chance to retest. The ticket was my friends idea. He was there when the cop was waiting for me to come down the road. That 137 sucked, i know but it was better then not having an amp to use.
