I was at school today buying a bag of skittles out of a machine. The skittels got stuck so i was using my left hand to rock the machine. my left hand slipped and i cut my wrist on the corner. it wasnt too deep but was bleeding.

i got back to class, cleaned it up and put a bandage on it. a few minutes later i could hardly stay awake an went to th nurse. on the way to the nurse i almost collapsed (luckily Rob, a friend, was there to help me walk) and all the voices were scrambled...sounded like everyone but Rob and me and the teacher were talking in tv static. all the voices (rob, me, techers, students) were muffled and static like. after i got to the nurse it all stopped but i continued sweating like crazy

i have not a clue what happened but im gonna go get checked out to find out...th enurse said it could be b/c of the reactino from seeing blood and that combined with no food all day could have done it

i have never been more scared in myu life.

It takes a lot of blood loss for you to feel queasy, I lost almost half my blood this year and didn't feel too good. It sounds like you were kinda in shock. Take it easy man and get some rest.

something similar happened to me.... smashed by whole thumb in the door of the truck up in the front part and it squeezed blood out of my thumb right at the top of my thumbnail.. i was alright.. i was outside.. it hurt like crap, when i went inside and startin puttin some stuff on it to clean it up... inside it was cold air.. was 100 degrees or so outside. That and the pain was to much... started tryin to find the couch...keep runnin into walls...doors..lol. sucked. now that i think about it i bet it looked funny but it wasn't to fun.

yes, but if you didnt lose alot of blood, i mean if there wasnt blood running out of your arm and dripping onto the ground (leaving puddles) it probably wasnt the blood loss, hell, i donate every chance i get, and even after losing a pint of blood i still feel fine, drink some juice and i am on my way, i would say it was a mental thing more than anything

AMEN TO THAT! it's the needle, not the pain that gets me.

I've passed out from a shot before (damn new TB tests that are injected just below the skin and cause it to bubble up)...and every time since i get very queasy whether i see the needle or not. Even at the dentist...after he gives me the shots i get very lightheaded and things get echoey for a few minutes afterwards. I even passed out from some eye test that involved a flashing blue light...weird [Frown]

but i did read in a psychology book that most people are told to relax when they're afraid of something. BUT...it said that people with needle phobias should do the opposite and tense up. Why? Because unlike most phobias that cause your blood pressure to go up, our phobia makes our b.p. go down!

gotta have some blood drawn in a few weeks...already warned the doctor that i am prone to getting sick and/or passing out. He was cool about it tho and said next time (was supposed to have it done that time with my physical but he said i could wait) they wouldn't make me wait in the waiting room so i wouldn't have time to dwell on it. Bring me in, lay me down on the table, prop head with pillow, etc so if i do pass out, i'm already down lol. very cool doctor tho...

anyway...bignick, sounds to me like it was due to not eating mostly (which prob did involve blood sugar levels dropping too far). You might seriously want to get tested and make sure you don't have diabetes. Passing out is unnerving...one second you're awake, next second you're in a "dream-state", then you're awake again and tryin to figure out wtf just happened...

been there, done that..
If I get any type of cuts or burns anywhere from my wrists to the tips of my fingures, I'll pass out, or come close to it.
Alot of it has to do with diet, some has to do with smoking. Did you eat anything that day? If not, that was what contributed to it. Do you have any history of High blood pressure or diabetes? This will also cause that same reaction.

it was shock... cuz i cut my finger alllll they way open, got hit with a bat in the face, i mean im the human scar man...

anyway i figured i could take anything. so one day i fell and put an exacto knife right thru my hand and ripped it out like nothing happened and it wasnt bleeding much at all so i bandaged it up so i walk back into the kitchen and out of NOwhere I feel really scarred and i felt like my blood pressure went super low for no reason... and i wasnt scarred either.

the next thing i know i hear THUD! and i woke up with my dad next to me asking me what hapened. i had passed out and i looked like i had no blood in me.... my face felt like it was on fire!.... it was the weirdest thing i ever experienced.

ALWAYS be careful and if u can be with some one when walking far cuz i know someone that just this past weekend had nimonia (sp?) and he felt faint and screamed for help... (at NJIT college) but no one took it seriously and by the time someone came to help he was dead!

soooo u never know!
