back in november of last year i had the dream job. was able to get off for any events i wanted to go to, paid good for my position, and got along with my boss real good, he was a good friend. last december somebody with smarts broke into our shop. the insurance had just lapsed and they cleaned house. the break in put the shop out of business. i was unemployed, two weeks before christmas!
after stumbling around through a few unwanted positions at various shops, i was offered a job with a fresh company that had opened its doors twenty minutes from home. i took a major pay cut for the job and was happy for the most part.
my boss had gone to padre this year and my wife and i used it as our vacation, we went along too.

a new manufacturer there caught my eye. they were just starting out, the sales staff didn't even know much about thier own product!
i spent a large amount of my time in thier booth trying to point them in the right direction. the people were easy enough to talk to, and they listened intently to my every word.

after getting back from padre, i found all of the equipment from a sponsorship i had recieved, sitting on my porch. IT WAS ON!!!

after almost two weeks of stripping our car and prepping it for a new install, i recieved the call from this company, they offered me a job.

after a few days of thinking it over, i took the position. i then found out i had to give up competing. they didn't like the idea of me competing!(that part still confuses me)

i turned my car and the installation in it over to my wife, who has never done it before.

after seven weeks on this job, i was informed that they couldn't afford to pay me anymore. after going above and beyond my job description, they simply dumped me to the curb.

i have been competing pro for almost five years. now that i worked for them i have to go expert.
i have given up my competition career, a good relationship with a sponsor, and a decent, reliable position at a local shop.

after those seven weeks of empty promises, a lot of hard work, building a demo car in my garage, getting yelled at and setting up some lucurative contacts. i found the true definition of THAT SUX !! [Mad]

That does suck.. I have a story that sucks, maybe not as much as that but it still does! I was working at a movie theatre for 2 years, got promoted and got a raise.. I took a year off of school to just take time to myself, save money, etc.. I had many other jobs offers that I could have taken but I would have had to quit the job at the movie theatre. Some of them were even double the pay!! I didn't because I figured I needed it for when I go back to school because it was part/full time, whatever I wanted! But the others would just be full time and I would have to quit when I went back to school.. a few weeks before i went back to school, I went on Vacation, the movie theatre called me and left me a message saying there was an important meeting so I left early to be home for that (didnt really care because things were getting boring anyways but still).. went to the meeting.. it was basically me getting in sh!t because another supervisor started to spread rumours and to cover his ass he told them that I did it.. even though I wasnt even there, so I got suspended, etc.. I didn't go back because what they did wasnt right. So here i am trying to pay for college without a job.. fun! But a few months down the road.. this girl that was in my class hooked me up with a job that paid more money, made my own hours.. and I am still working there (im still in school).. I guess the moral of the story is things may get bad but keep trying and things will eventually get better..

well... I'll tell my story..
I got in an accident last year and my Jetta got written off (it was 100% the other persons fault) so I decided I was gonna get one of my dream cars.. I got a 13k loan (canadian dollars) and bought myself a 1990 300zx..
all was good until my timing belt broke.. my car sat on the driveway for about 3 months while I saved up to fix it.. then.. I lost my job.. car sat for another month while I tried to find a job.. I finally got it in the shop (I got my settlement with the insurance company.. by the time everything is done I owe teh shop $5,500 to get my car fixed.. I still dont have a job.. I just turned 20 yesterday but it seems like things have been getting better..
3 weeks ago I ordered 2 Alpine Type-R 10's.. I got a sweet sweet deal on them (basically at cost) well they still didnt have them in so I told them I wanted my money back.. well they gave me the Type-R 12's for the same price..

I had a very bad day last night. I was out about 1 1/2 away from my house working on our stereo's with a friend.. I was installing new power wire in my car.. My battery posts were fairly loose (I have a GM car so its side terminals) I went to tighten them and SNAP one of them snapped off half in, half out.. since I had limited tools with me there wasnt much I could do because it was jammed in.. the stub was too short to grib with anything too.. so I called around to a few places like CAA (AAA) and GM roadside assistance, they were useless.. all they could do is tow me.. which wasnt good enough I needed it fixed that night to get home and to be at work early in the morning the next day. So I called a Canadian Tire since that was one of the only places open and asked if they could take it in because it was somewhat of an emergency, they said no.. so yeah.. so I figured the only way I could get home would be to get a new battery since there wasnt much more I could do. So I went and got a Optima Yellow Top.. I figured may as well spend the extra money and get something worth while instead of buying something cheap and a waste of my money just to get home.. so me and my friend raced to the shop in his car, then it was a few mins before closing time so i gave them a call talked to the manager to make sure they could stay open a little extra to make sure we could get it.. get there, pick it up.. swipe my credit card.. and it was denied. Tried again for a lesser amount and denied.. try again and still denied.. call them up and I had the money on the card.. [Confused] So I wasnt sure how much was in my bank account so I tried that and it worked.. So then we made it back to his house put it in, and got everything working.. but still it was pretty bad.. oh yeah did I meantion I have a battery backup on my alarm? [Smile] so most of the time it was going off [Smile]
