i had some old pyramid stuff lying around that i sold to a friend. i offered to do the install and such for him, and he agreed. I get done and he left, happy as can be with his new subs. But i see him a week later, he's like 'come check out what my buddy did for me'. so i come look. this guy bridged this 4 ohm mono stable amp into these 4 ohm subs...so i see he's got this pyramid amp running at a 2 ohm mono load. I tried to explain it to him, but he'd have none of it. so i asked to go for a ride and play it hard for a bit. we drove for about 25 minutes playing it as hard as we could, and the guy had jacked up the gains so they were wayn high, sounded terrible...we stopped, and i grabbed the amp, and it was warm. thats all. and to this day (almost 4 months) that amp is running at 2 ohm mono. interesting eh?

An installer friend of mine tried to kill a late 80s Blau amp with no luck. We had wires connected to everything. Power on the speaker leads, speaker leads twisted together and touching the amp, power going to ground, etc, every cruel wiring thing that you have thought about doing to an amp we did to this amp. What did it do? Nothing. It played as good after as it did before we tried to kill it.

Blau made some kick-ass stuff and it looks like they might be returning to grace too!! I had an LA Sound amp that I couldn't kill and even sold it too a more sadistic friend who couldn't kill it. We even ran a house system off of it . Fear the cheap yet immortal beasties .

Back when I was 17 my buddy had a Vega with a Sparkomatic booster - the one with the power button on front. One channel was hooped so we ran everything off the other channel. We managed to collect 17 6x9 (none of which were enclosed in any way)and 6.5" speakers and ran them all parallel off that thing (what did we know!) That ****er didn't even shut down let alone burn up and it was that way for over a year!

I wonder if anyone has tried to actually run these things the way they were designed to be used? Maybe, just maybe, the engineers who built this crap built it to be ABLE to do these kinds of things?????? Maybe we should try just 2 speakers in stereo??? Maybe even 8Ohmers? I'm thinking we'll have to take the engineers out of the picture!!!!

I bought a pyramid amp for $45 canadian just to mess around with and I couldn't do anything to it that it wouldnt take. It was a two chanel amp, "unbrdgeble", rated at 4 to 8 ohms. It took 2 0hms easy. I shorted out the speaker leads. Used the positive from one chanel and negitive from the other and put it to two ohms and it worked fine. I was dissapointed, i wanted it to start on fire so I could have a cool story to tell but no such luck. I took it back to london drugs and got my 45 bucks back

Connect one of the channels to the 12v of the amp. Or get the negitve of one channel and connect it to the 12volts of the amp.

althought they are very overrated, they have some great circuit protection to prevent idiots from blowing them. Of course, I guess that's because of who buys the product. Did I accidentally flame someone? I meant nothing by it.
Heck, 8 or so years ago, I bought one just to see how badly it was overrated. That makes me one too.
