I told this guy i was getting a DD9515 and he automatically thought it was like ratshack crap. WTF...
anyways, theres a guy in town that said he will be louder with his 2 15" RF punches, and 2 12" RF punches, on a sony xm3001xsd "XPLOD" amp... Im like OK, we'll see.
so one 9515, with two bp1200.1's ported in 8 cubes, at 36 hz, vs a f00l with that crap??

People are dumb. They just haven't heard of it, so they don't understand it. A local guy that works at a shop once called DD an "off brand", but he'll see how much of an "off brand" it is at their comp this summer lol. It's the same guy that said our huge ported box wouldn't work at last year's comp that was held their. I think he got the idea that it worked after we beat a vehicle with a pair of 12s and 1000 watts that they had setup with our 2 cheap as 10s and 600 watts lol. People are just dumb

I can tell you why, they have gotten so big so quick that people think that they are just overhyped. They automatically think "yea just another 'thing'". Either that or they have never heard of them cause they are not that deep into competition, so they just figure RF, JL, Eclipse etc... is better. Just blow them off and dont worry cause they wont ever show up in the lanes, and if they do youll probably blow their doors off anyway.

My friend had two 3512 against a guy with two 15" fosgates in a ported box well 3512's in a sealed box with 2000 watts kicked his ass. And everyone at the comp in street 1-2

what can i say?? ignorance is bliss. it's just people that haven't gotten very far into competing. they just want some bump in the trunk. even when i bought my first xtant subwoofer, everyone laughed because they never heard of it before. after everyone heard it they thought twice. i am no longer an xtant man, but i see where you're coming from. i'll say it again: ignorance is bliss!

I got treated the same way. he ran 8 audiobahm 1508s and i ran 1 of my 2 9015ds. Well he he was making fun of me how bad he would beat me and that it wasnt gonna be funny. lol lets just say i did the same score he did on the dash then he did in outlaw. he was pissed. then i beat him by about 4 dbs outlaw. LOL

I am used to this too. One guy said "Digital Designs, who are they made by....I said Digital Designs....he said oh oh well I am getting 2 15 MTX's like he was the sh*t. You know what you do you just laugh and say "Oh MAN you never heard of Digital Designs??...do you even COMPETE??" then say ..."Well Digital Designs is one of those things that if you never heard of them its probably because you can't afford it. " That'll fixem. I never have the balls to say stuff liek that though I wish I did sometimes. OH another thing this is what I DO do. I have made a little portfolio of magazine cutouts and the most recent World Finals results and some pictures of Michael Hughe's van with the 5 subs in it and also the SPL meter reading right beside it. This almost always shuts them up real quick. I also carry the MMATS article that says 1998, 1999,2000 SPL World champions, that shuts people up when they ask why I dont run good amps like Fosgates or whatnot (im not dissin rockford its jus the first thing people say. You may call it paranoid but this little yellow portfolio envelope lives in my glove compartment I am just SICK of getting put down by ignorant morons and I need something to back me up. People always look at me like I'm nuts when I pull oout the documentation...i thinkt hat makes an impression!

Same kind of story just different brand i had my two L7 kicker 15's in my truck first the kid said i could never do it.. Lol Proved him wrong then he had a buddy with 8 12's in his truck, never hearing mine he said he would kill me at the shows. The kid had i think Pioneer IMPP's nothing great ya know but anyway onward to the show i think the kid posted like 142 or something, I do a 152 all on the dash lol anyways they were stunned i just smiled and pointed at the score. when addressing something like this keep two things in mind. 1....ignorance is a major factor, a lot of people have never heard them. (i haven't, but i know thier reputation)
2....opinions. a lot of opinions are based on what other people say, or hear. for example, at one time, i would never use Pioneer. Back a quite a few years, a friend told me how cheap they were. out of necessity i bought one shortly there after and found them to be one of my favorite radio's. opinions make up peoples minds for them.

i had the same crap pulled on me at a local shop... they were all dic*s to me and my friends. then when i found out they ripped my friend off i was pissed.
so i came to talk to them they had this suv with 12 10" type r's and said "dont stay hear ull go deaf" so what did i do... i put my head in the bed of the suv and they let it rip... he just stared as i didnt even flinch.
then he said what do u have? i said DD and he laughed cuz he doesnt sell it....
lets just say whatever speakers and subs they had mounted on the wall arent mounted any more!

people are morons its in their nature. even people at shops are morons. most people at shops are morons(to correct myself) the whole thing is competition. alot of people do not get it. if you want the answer to life i can actually give it to you(helps in all situations)
there are two things in this world. 1) things you can control 2) things you can't control
you shouldnt worry about things you cant control because well(you can control them and they will always end up in a big mess if you do try to control it) you can not control ignornace. let people think what they want and do your talking in the ring. product bashing is fun and i love doing it but well it does suck if the other person doesnt have a clue and then bashes a good product. last i recall dd doesnt through out subs but wow they sure do win alot.

You stole what I said!! Anyway, I agree...those sales people think RF is the **** and won't try anything else. I just wish I'm there when their in the db drag lanes and have people beating them left and right using DD subs and some amps while the RF lovers use multiple RF subs/amps.

the only thing that is worse is when a salesman has top notch equipment on the display floor and doesnt even know its full potential. we got a store with eclipse, alpine, rf, boston, and sony. big ace amps and subs just sittin there for their disposal and they show of the z series in a qforms bandpass box on a 150 watt amp saying that will shake the neighbors, so i didnt even attempt to talk comparisons to other brands or even explain my full purposes.

In my home town people get DD confused with Digital Audio. There is a store in town that tries to pass the Digital Audios as DDs, and of course the Digital Audio sucks. I have 2 9510s and there is only a few people in town that hit harder than me. These people are using 9515s. The install her has been in nomorous magazines and knows his stuff. All I have to say is let these people talk trash. When you go in the lanes or pull up by them.....turn your stuff up, lift your head high, and let the good times roll!!!!!!! Be proud of your DDs!!.

I seen a set fo BMF 15's in a pawn shop for $100cnd($65us) in a box, I asked what was wrong with them, guy said nothing let me hookthem up and try them out worked fine in mint shape talked him down too $85 and bought them 'cause "Crossfire sucked and no one knows who they are, you need too buy some good JL or Rockford subs if you wanna be loud" just laughed left the store and sold them on ebay for $275

I have Fosgate subs and ill be the last to laugh when i hear DD. Because i lost a comp by almost 6 dbs to a single DD. It was a 15 and i have 2 10s sealed. I want to switch to DD like the 3512s but i cant find them anywhere.

i hate ppl like that. i have some oroin 62 and every one thinks there ****. luckly i'm doing a presentation in school on them and i have the reatail on the hcca series and that should shut them up. i showed one kid a set up on orion and it had like 12 beasts in it and he was like damn thats sweet. how much that cost? i counted them up and rounded it and said 12gs for the amps and i bet few thousand for the wiring. one guy was about to bust a gut and said that guy got ripped off. i asked him wat was a good amp and he said eclipse and fosgate. so i coked an eyebrow at him and asked for reals? hes like hell yeah. so i just started laughing at him and let it die down and would mumble eclipse or fosgate and just give a little laugh the whole period. not that eclipse and fosgate are bad.later i over heard him bragging on orion. haha wat poser.
