I had a similar experience. I was out at the movies with my girlfriend. When we came out to go home, my passenger door was slightly ajar, and when i disarmed my alarm it signalled it had gone off. Only thing missing was a hunk of MDF i had sitting in the back seat... That one REALLY blew my mind... I'm still trying to figure out the logistics behind that. I can just see the thieves:
#1:"hey theres at least 3 grand of stereo equipment here."
#2:"Lets just take that peice of wood that cost 2.95"
#1:"Sounds good. Lets get outta here"

lol...i was at the mall with my '93 Intrepid. Pioneer HU, better than $200 in CDs in the case on the floor and the driverside door was unlocked. Someone broke out the pasenger window "moved the CD case" and took my g/f's wallet so they stole about $.73....

I went to the movies on a date about a year ago. When I came out my passenger window was smashed. I started to freak out because I had alot of stuff in there. I had a CD changer behind the front seats not even bolted down, an MTX 2300 just laying on the back seat (don't ask), an MTX 4160 under the front seat not bolted down (i'm lazy), two 12" CV Acurate Images $300 each, in a box not bolted down, two 12' Hifonics Olympians in a box not bolted down, about $1000 worth of hockey equipment in the back, two $50 bottles of cologne in the center console, about $500 worth of CD's, and they didn't take anything, not one thing. All I can think of is they must have gotten caught by someone. Got a little lucky on that one and learned a good lesson. Now I don't keep anything in my car that isn't absolutely nessesary.
