Well, I have my doozies too. I posted this in reply to an earlier post, but I guess it disapeared. I was asked by a customer to install a set of components in his 944. He wanted the 5 1/4's in the door, and the tweeters high on the rear pillar, facing front (yes I tried to dissuade him from it). The entire install went without a hitch, up to the tweeter part. The drivers's side went in no problem, as I checked the passanger side, making sure I was well above the GAS FILLER cap. As my drill pierced the metal, I heard a faint ssssssss..., and smelled GAS! I did a double take, rechecked the height of the tank, opend the filler cap checked, and rechecked. Then I called the Porsche dealer, and as I explained to hime what happenned, he "politly" informed me that I had just pierced the "Gas Expansion Tank", which extends up to half way in the roof of the car. It was a hard earned lesson for me, the customer has every right to be wrong.
