this post in question was written somewhere between 5-6 months ago.
some guy got busted by the cops and had to pay a ticket for his system. then later on, another person replied w/ his story which went like this:
he got busted for a ticket. fought it and went to court. the offence was having a system audible from 75 feet. to fight it on a technicality, in a very mature and professional manner, he measured 75' from the bench, and stood at that distance from the judge. by of course using his voice, he simply asked if the judge could hear him. since there was no way to prove the officer's case, such as a spl meter (the equivalent of a radar gun in a speeding ticket), he won his case.

just noticed your from dekalb. DO you go to northern illinois university. Just wondering. My gf goes there and im up there all the time. Havent heard any real loud comp cars up there and would be nice to meet someone from down there = )

That was me that got the ticket, back when my user name was Bass 99 Camaro. the ticket for was written for something like continuous airborn noise over 80 dbs. When I brought it up to the board and asked for help, one person told me to go to court and ask how he knew that it was over 80db, since the cop had no meter, in turn he would reply that "I heard it" so he told me to walk to the back of the courtroom and say, "can you hear this? Well, how do u know that I'm not over 80ddbs rigth now. For very well, i could be, because 80dbs is nothing more than a semi-loud shout." He said his ticket was reduced for that. Me on the other hand, got a lawyer, and the lawyer made the cop look so dumb because we didnt even have a noise ordinance around here at the time the ticket was written.
