I don't know how many of you watched fast and the furious but I loved it until... I saw they had the cars from the movie for sale and they don't actually have most of the mods they claimed in the movie. If you recall the green eclipse had turbo, intercooler, and Nos. The actual car has none of them. And if you think of venoms 850 hp V-10 is impressive you should take a look at the japanese version of my car, the sylvia. It has a V-6, all wheel drive with optional TT's. They built one up and came out with over 1100 hp. It holds some records in a class of top speed racing.

I was in an RX-7 that was doing 140+. That's as fast as I ever want to go in a car.
It was crazy! Speed is no longer "my thing"

I like going fast, but I can really get going when my radio is cranked! I can be doing like 90 or something, crank my radio up then its like I can't go fast enough... I end up coming up to a turn doing about 120 trying to slow down, and my car starts skiding and it feels like I'm gonna die. Thats about the time that I turn off my radio and start going about 35 and just head home... wow I hate it when that happens.

Acura NSX, 150 mph, 2 gears left. CRAZY..lol
They are incredibly overpriced, but if you come to MI and cruise the legendary gratiot, the dude with the red NSX with gretti banner will give you a ride if you treat him to mickey D's..

I still say 130mph in a modded suburban is about the most exhilarating thing I have experienced however..lol..

Well I am from the Caribbean(Jamaica) and out there we have a ton of Skylines and Evolutions, especially on Drag days. My friend has a 99 Evilution VI and the 0-60 is around 4secs and the 1/4 mile is in the 10-11 sec range. The max speed isn't as high as the VIPER, but the 0-60 is hella ridiculous and I got a chance to ride in it on the road one day and I do not wish to go back in it ever again, unless it was me in the driver seat.
You guys up here(US) would really get a kick out of the EVOLUTION and the SKYLINES. Probably some of you sports car lovers already have some knowledge about these babies. But the sad thing is that I have heard that they are going to have these cars here for 2002, but guess what, that they will be reducing the output of the engine cause of some law crap and having such a fast street/stock car on the street. So you definitely will not be getting the same as the Japanese ones without some major upgrades done.

The skyline has a lot of the same parts as the silvia I already posted about. Unfortunatly like you already know the american versions of all these cars are nothing compared to the japanese ones. You can however buy the parts and have them shipped here from japan.

I accelerated from 0-90 in about half a second once... ONCE. It was a giant human sling-shot. It has two large towers for the side supports, and a third one in back. You start on the ground, then they hook a steel cable to the underside of the cage that you are in to the third tower. Then it pulls you up to the third tower, and the motors stretch the 4 inch diameter rubber bands. You are sitting down facing the ground, and those rubber bands look like they are about to snap... then it lets you go!!!!! You go from 0-90 and then to about 85 the other way in about 2 seconds!! You are facing the ground the whole time. About the time you get about up to speed you stop dead for a small fraction of a second, my head felt like the veins were about to burst out of my forehead!!! Then you start accelerating the other way... this was about th time when I started wishing I wouldn't have succomed to the temptation of a new ride. Then you stop and they let the bands back down... I thought I was done, boy was I wrong! They set me back down and this time snapped this big ring around the bottom loop. They started tightening the bands again... ohhh Sh!t!!! ..... VROOM!! I was amazed about how high it sent me while I was still accelerating. This ride isn't like the others where you have a second or two for freefall... ohh no, it sends you back down just as fast as you went up! When the ride was finally over I had to take a s*** soo bad I raced to the bath room... which was pretty hard, because I was very dizzy... needless to say I fell a few times... but I got there and thats all that matters!

I've only hit 122mph in one of the first Vipers in the UK.
However, I've hit 147mph in a R34 Skyline (single lane, country road), 150mph in an Aston Martin Vanquish (2 tonnes and a V12, mmm lovely!!!).
If you want something scary, try the TVR Tuscan Speed 6 (you know the car in Swordfish), a TVR Cerbera (which can take most cars, including the Viper) and the TVR Speed 12, which is just pain silly and I'm still waiting on that one.
But, the quickest car I've driven was a '72 VW Beetle, 0-60mph in 4.2secs and can out accelerate a Maclaren F1 to 100mph.
Thank god for cars...

Hi,
just to make you envious a little bit:

Here in good old germany is no speed limit at some Highways...

That means:
I can ride my motorcycle (166HP->325km/h->200+mph) Yeah !!! Ride the bullet !!!

Drive my car (260HP->250km/h->155mph)

And this all day long...

The fastest car I owned was a Mercedes Benz S Class 600 V12, 408HP->295km/h
and an Audi V8 300HP->280km/h : \/

BUT The bad taste, gas 3,35$ a gallon here !
That´s a speed limit too, HMPF !!!

Who can afford this?
I´m not anymore !
So, car->260HP and bike -> 166HP

Good enough, for daily driving, hehehe.

Üüüühh!!!
Michael

PS.: The Ü2 car has 60HP->100mph, hehehe, HMPF !!!

A blown Keith Black Hemi.

You'll probably see him out on the Federal Mogul series next season.

Hey just the other day I did 0-100 in about 3 seconds in my car...Too bad it was in the rain and I was spinning my tires in a puddle...Speedometer went up to 110 and then to 80, then back to 90...Until it finally shifted into 3rd and I started going....

In the december issue of GM High Performance mag. there is a shootout between the viper & and corvette Z06.
They were using last year's Z06. So its the one with only 325hp/350ft.lbs.
The viper was pulling with 425hp/? ft.lbs.
They were both running consistant 12s but the viper considantly outran the Z06 by about .3-.7.

Its a good read, Go hit your magazine racks.

They also have the changes to this years LS6 motor in the new Z06 compared with the 2000 LS6 engine.

Another article in the mag is about chevy's need to step up to the plate. the 2003 viper will have thje huge hp heart stopping engine, like 500hp. Meanwhile chevy is only planning on thier 425hp engine. Chevy needs to at least try to compete for top spot in stock sport car.

I'm a chevy guy so i'd rather a Z06. Its not as if i would ever break 100mph anyways.

factory viper does 0-60 in 4.1 seconds to the "01" vette zo6's 3.9....the viper is fast yeah no doubt about it so is the vette zo6, but ummm do you think they have a chance against my "79" firebird its only a blown alchohol 455 ......just a little over 1800 then we put some real boost to it.....its cool we just set it up for road racing last year and were trying the open road racing circuit where speeds frequently go over the 200 mph mark......hey weve hit 240 a few times......just remember when going that fast you need a navagator that has a realy good map and can judge distance....theres nothing worse than a turn you didnt know about!!!!!
