Well few weeks back I am working in the trunk of the car. Putting the 2 ZR 1000's in I just got back from kicker.

Its actually looking all nice. That is something that has been RARE in my trunk over the last year. Well all is hooked up and plays and sounds GOOD. I literally have EVER screw but one in. I put the last screw in. I hear a sounds that like a spark. Cant tell where its from. Well then I hear it again and again. Then I realize that ever time I screw a little more on the screw the sound is there. Well then there is a light comming from under the pannel that hides the batteries...then smoke. About this time I realize $$@% fire (sorry I am slow and it was late). Lucky there is a fire extinguisher so the fire is out. Well its still smoking but not fire. I start to rip and unscrew what was in there so nice. To get under it. I lift of the board to see that the negative wire going from the battery to the amp was going near the positive terminal of the same battery. Well not a big deal...TILL that one last screw goes through the negative wire RIGHT onto the positive terminal. Wire was melted and VERY hot to the touch about half way up to the amp.

Lucky no dammage done. Amp not blown. Just left with the funky smell and burnt wires. All got fixed just didnt look as nice.

THIS is the reason I dont like working on my car at times..lol...

Too bad it isnt as clean as before. Oh well at least no one or nothing was damaged. The burnt smell kinda sucks though.
