I was turning left on a yellow arrow and this kid was runnin the light on the opposite ongoing traffic side and totals both our cars. I'm 16 and just got my system doing 157's and 158's after 9 months (of saving money) and now I get to start all over again. The bright side, if there is one, is that my 4 15's and all my amps and 8 batteries are fine but I just spent $1100 for a new alternator system and thousands more for everything else I have put in the car that insurance doesnt cover. Only thing I will get is probably around $3000 for the price of an 1987 supra, everything else will be lost, I feel like I just turned 16 again and start saving up for a nice system and car.

If he ran the light, he should have gotten a ticket, and his insurance company is going to be responsible for all expenses and damages. They should be more than HAPPY to pay for ANYTHING that you had in your vehicle that you claim as damaged. They would rather you do that then sue them for medical damages, etc..

I just hope you were ok after the accident.

Either way, good luck with everything! It sucks to lose a vehicle after dumping so much time and money into it. I know, I've been there too.

Sorry to hear about the accident, hope you okay.
but this goes to show you should never have more invested into the stereo than the car itself is worth !

You should definately be able to get money back for it. My insurance company said they wouldn't cover my fog lights, battery, fuse blocks, intake, front air dam, etc., and I just called the other guy'z insurance company and said that I had spent the money on it, it worked fine, and then their insuree hit me and now I have to pay? Heeellll no. If they recognized responsibility and payed up no problem, I don't see why you couldn't do the same with this guy.
