Richard Clark built the same type of array for a demonstration that I attended some years ago, it was amazing how loud and clear the sound from these things were. The components were series/parallel wired with no crossover components, full range 4", who would have ever guessed?

I once saw a Dodge Caravan with a "wave" shaped wall on the inside with 6x9's totally covering both sides. I don't know exactly how many were in it, but it had to be around 80-100. The guy never did turn it on the whole time i was there, so i can't tell you how it sounded... but personally, i'd rather just stick with subs.

The car had 5.25's and it played 125hz.The funny thing is is that they were ported too.A team member of ours helped work on the car and he said it was real fun wiring up all those speakers. The car would also play music because it had midranges.hehe.Good job Dominick

That Caravan with the 6x9's had 90 of them. And it used to do 160's on average. This was close to 2 years ago.

about ten years ago i built a box with 16 4 inch woofers in a CRX powered by an old (pre-MOSFET)punch 150, the results were quite astounding, especially considering the whole enclosure went the width of the back and 12" tall by only 4"deep!, was later replaced by a pair of 15's and another 150 was added, but man, i used to get some attention with that one!BTW the 4"woofers are the ones at radio shack, the same ones used in the minimus 7 speakers, still the most efficient and powerfull woofer in that size range at almost any reasonable price.
